We worked with community leaders and the new Akron Public Schools superintendent to create a new collaborative bringing dozens of organizations, businesses, school districts, and institutions together that has mobilized tens of thousands of citizens to make reading a priority in the community.

The Unified New Orleans Project was a comprehensive planning process to establish the roadmap for recovery for a city devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

Following the Unified New Orleans Plan project, Round River Consulting has continued to engage displaced citizens. Evacuees from four cities came together in a leadership retreat which led to a campaign to organize displaced citizens living in FEMA trailers in Louisiana.

Round River Consulting staff provided on-site management of two project sites in San Diego and Humboldt County. For six weeks, we guided the targeted recruitment process and managed on-site logistical planning.
COMMUNITY HEALTH PROJECTS
- Akron Children's Hospital, Akron General Health System and Summa Health System
Round River Consulting is facilitating a 5-county community health needs assessment. Information from the assessment wil be used by these health systems along with public health and social service agencies to better serve the needs of our community's residents.

Round River Consulting developed survey instruments and moderator guides and facilitated focus groups throughout the community to assess and evaluate linguistic and cultural barriers to patient/provider communication.
- Western Stark Medical Clinic
We worked over a year and a half with the board and CEO to develop strategic and operational plans.
- Canton Community Clinic
Round River Consulting facilitated a Strategic Planning Board Retreat that has provided the necessary focus for this new federally qualified health clinic.

We led a strategic planning and capacity-building process to transform the organization from a service delivery agency to a collaborative model.

We have worked with the CEO and board to implement two retreats to assess and determine priorities for investment.
- Anthem Family Violence
Program coordinators from across the state of Ohio gathered for a two day retreat for capacity-building to position the projects to go to a larger scale.

The governor and legislative leadership invited California’s citizens to weigh in on their priorities for health care reform in a day-long meeting with a representative sample of 4,500 citizens across eight cities. Round River Consulting staff provided on-site management of two project sites in San Diego and Humboldt County.

Round River Consulting worked with the ADM Board and other agencies to convene a 21 st Century Summit that will launch the work of the Behavioral Health Committee of Summit 2010, a comprehensive health and human services planning process. The Summit is expected to engage approximately 50 agencies and organizations in Summit County.

Round River Consulting began its work to establish an Inclusion/Diversity Project with the creation of a staff committee five years ago. Today, the committee is collaborating with the new Quality Initiative Team to address “Opportunities for Improvement” as identified in the agency’s first Baldrige review.

A task force of staff and community leaders guided a comprehensive strategic planning process which included individual meetings, 16 focus groups, customer satisfaction surveys, and an environmental scan. Implementation support included management training, an administrative leadership retreat and the introduction of Inclusion Tools to engage staff more fully.

This project coordinated a strategic planning process in a new organization with a total potential membership of 400 libraries. The process included focus groups, on-line surveys and facilitation of project management team and membership meetings. The plan was completed just as a new executive director was hired who welcomed the plan as a roadmap for action.

We began our work with the facilitation of a strategic planning board process and staff tactical planning sessions. Our work continues as we engage the board and other community leaders in the creation of a new endowment and a 20 th Anniversary Gala Event. We are also working with a staff incentive committee to develop a recognition and rewards program.
